Dr Francis Collins is head of the Human Genome Project. As such he is one of the world’s leading scientists, working at the cutting edge of the study of DNA, the code of life. He is also a man of unshakeable Christian faith. How does he reconcile his faith in God with his what he learns through science?
In this book he explains his journey from atheism to faith. I found it absolutely compelling reading. It is a book for adults, scholarly whilst at the same time being readable for someone like me. He is unafraid to face the views of Richard Dawkins on the one hand and Creationists on the other. And he has a fascinating story, not only of his own spiritual journey, but of the search for cystic fibrosis gene in DNA!
If belief in God is an issue to you or to friends of yours, I cannot recommend it too highly.
