Above is a copy of an obituary that appeared in a national newspaper last week for Julian Inglis-Jones.
Julian was a true servant of His Lord and Saviour whom he served all his life with an enthusiasm and passion that could but only encourage others. He devoted himself unceasingly to the work and growth of the churches within our parish. He and Mairi opened their house to Christian Conferences throughout the year – a facility used by many Churches even beyond the Diocese. In the early 1990's he helped oversee the merger of Ockley with Okewood and Forest Green when it became one benefice. Later in life he became a Lay Reader and took services in all three churches helping out the various incumbents of the day.
He was seen at many of the village events taking a lively interest in all that was happening around him and he will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to Mairi and the family at this time. If you would like to make a donation, please clearly mark on the reverse of any cheques, ‘in memory of Julian Inglis-Jones.’
