“Lessons I should have paid attention to at Theological College”
One year into his curacy, Adam’s Vicar took a 4 month sabbatical from the parish and Adam was given the opportunity to experience more of the demands of parish leadership. Initially full of energy, brimming with ideas and keen to rise to the challenge, Adam’s Vicar would return to find his Curate overworked and overwhelmed and with his prayer life in tatters – but having learned some of the most useful lessons of his ministry so far.
Drawing on his own experiences as well as examples from Scripture, Adam will talk frankly about how all Christians can take steps to avoid the common pitfalls of seeking the approval of others, being driven by the desire to achieve and the dangers of becoming overwhelmed by the needs of a community.
